The hotel is located in the centre of Carcassonne, 50 metres from the Canal du Midi and just over a kilometre from the medieval walled city. It is also adjacent to the railway station.

The Le Terminus Hotel is housed in a traditional, 4-storey corner building with an attractive Beaux Arts façade, which dates from 1913. The most eye-catching features of the extremely spacious lobby are two sweeping staircases, which rise on either side to meet an ornate balcony. Elsewhere, the lobby also boasts an elaborately corniced ceiling and a dark wood reception desk. Varying in size due to the age of the building, the 104 guestrooms are also decorated in different styles – principally contemporary and Belle Epoque – but all boast high ceilings. Many of the rooms are enhanced by Art Deco pieces originally brought to the hotel in the 1920s. Located just off the lobby, the brasserie style restaurant has been entirely refurbished in bright colours, and it is furnished with modern grey and black furniture.
