We were allocated a very small dark room at the back which looked into another building. It was totally unsatisfactory and there was no alternative room on offer. We had to pay for an upgrade to obtain a room with reasonable space and light. It was very comfortable.
Breakfast was satisfactory. We had hoped to eat in the hotel one evening but were told the restaurant was full
Top Tip
This is very much a coach tour hotel so you will be in the minority as an independent traveller. It is well placed for visiting the old town but there are no restaurants near by so you face a long walk or taxi ride in the evening.

We stayed for one night. The staff were very pleasant. Pool small but good for our 12 and 14 year old to mess about in. Separate tiolet in one of the rooms was a very tight fit but manageable. Some tiles in other room could have done with an overhaul. Beds very comfy. Perfect location to walk to Carcassonne old city and lovely views from our rooms of the old city both day and night. Not far to walk with hand luggage to town centre, restaurants and shops and railway station. Overall really good hotel for our one night would definitely stay again.

We booked this hotel because of the rooms with the panoramic view on the city. We did however not get such a room, so it was pointless.
Top Tip
Make sure you book a room with panoramic view on the city; otherwise get a different hotel.

We were initially worried about the negative comments regarding this hotel. ie, drab and shabby. The building finish is simular to many modern buildings in the modern town. Inside the hotel is spotless and rooms comfortable with superb views, if you book a room with balcony. Staff very helpful and friendly. food fresh and good quality. Would recommend their restaurant. This hotel is not for the young, wanting some nightlife but perfect for more mature types like ourselves, or those wanting a peaceful time and rest.

For views of the Citi, best to book hotel in the new town near the river. Local restaurants, good and wide choice of menus and prices. Local wine very good. Note that the Taxi fare is around 10 euro. bus fare is 5 euro.
